London, United Kingdom – 7th May 2026 – A new market report highlights Turkey’s growing importance as one of the Mediterranean region’s largest and fastest-evolving data centre and digital infrastructure markets.
According to the report, Turkey had surpassed 100,000 m2 s of raised floor space and approximately 150 MW of Data Centre Customer Power (DCCP) by the end of 2025, supported by an estimated 50 to 60 third-party data centre facilities.
The market is evolving from a predominantly enterprise-led colocation sector toward larger hyperscale-capable campus developments, driven by increasing cloud adoption, AI workloads, and international connectivity demand.
Istanbul and Ankara remain the country’s primary data centre hubs, while emerging activity is also being seen in cities such as Izmir and Bursa.
The report identifies Turkey’s nationwide 5G launch on the 1st April 2026 as a major catalyst for future infrastructure demand. Major operators Turkcell, Vodafone Turkey, and Türk Telekom have now activated 5G services across all 81 provinces.
Turkey’s strategic position as a digital bridge between Europe and Asia is also being reinforced through major submarine cable and fibre investments, including the Kardesa, Worldlink Hybridge, and BlueMed projects, alongside new terrestrial fibre routes connecting Greece, Turkey, Georgia, and potentially the Gulf region.
The report concludes that Turkey is increasingly well positioned to become a key regional hub for hyperscale, cloud, connectivity, and digital infrastructure investment over the coming decade.
